Our client is an award winning provider of innovative design solutions. Headquartered in New York City with satellite offices in Long Island, the firm works locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
While their core business focuses on Corporate Interiors and Retail Design, over the last 30 + years the company has cultivated practice groups in Advanced Technology and Broadcast, Architecture, Healthcare, Education and Branding and Graphics. The company offers integrated services across numerous sectors and industries. Organized in sector-specific studios, they provide the strong personal and specialized service of a small firm as well as breadth and depth of resources offered by a large organization.

We are currently seeking a Workplace Strategist for our New York City location.  As a Workplace Strategist, you will be responsible for coming in and analyzing our client’s workplace, determining based on company business and cultural objectives; identifying what works and doesn’t work spatially.  Essentially, you will assist and lead the team in delivering strategic workplace planning, pre-design services, high level programming develop change management initiatives, all while tracking design trends that impact space requirements.

Job Description
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of current and future space needs across portfolio of clients and complete understanding of the business direction and ever changing workplace needs;  Identify and develop opportunities for workplace improvement throughout the global portfolio of clients
  • Measure work environment efficiency, effectiveness and expression
  • Meet with client leadership and other client representatives to determine wants and needs while providing strategic direction; Conduct and analyze surveys accordingly
  • Maintain an active awareness and understanding of global workplace trends, innovations and opportunities
  • Lead the development of global policies, guidelines, processes and responsibilities for workplace and design for our clients, framed around the employee experience including design, brand, technology and overall wellness
  • Develop a global model for client workplace engagement to deliver a consistent approach which ensures that we understand the needs of the business so these can be successfully delivered through workplace design, delivery and operations
  • Create a metrics platform to consistently measure the effectiveness and efficiency of client’s workplace while supporting workplace improvement initiatives and projects
  • Generate conceptual solutions that respond to client’s spatial requirements and needs
  • Evaluate current program as part of the design process while evaluating client’s existing layouts versus future layouts; evaluating current efficiencies and programs in order to successfully guide them to being more productive
 
 
Job Requirements
  • A strong industry recognized workplace professional with experience of successfully implementing workplace and design strategies within national and global organizations
  • At least 5 plus years of solid workplace planning/strategy experience at an architectural (corporate side) firm or  similar client-facing environment; design management and interior design expertise a MUST
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of global workplace trends, innovations and opportunities.
  • Proven success integrating all workplace and design elements by understanding core client business and how workplace and design can support and enhance business performance at said client
  • Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple logistical tasks
  • Ability to adapt emerging best practices and industry innovations to client needs
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior client leadership
  • Excellent customer service acumen and interpersonal relationship skills throughout all projects
  • Ability to be affective while working independently and within a team environment
  • A strong and motivated self starter with strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • A forward-thinking strategic mindset with the ability to understand and overcome tactical challenges
  • Some ergonomics experience is a Plus
