They are looking to hire an Application Engineer in the Atlanta, GA area to support the southern region.  Travel may be up to 50% overnight within the southern states.

Job Summary / Mission:
1. Provide expert technical and commercial sales support to internal and external customers in an operations defined territory. This includes but is not limited to: process/site audits and initial installation of new products, product demonstrations and corporate presentations.
2. Contribute to business growth and sustainment through influencing and teamwork abilities. Demonstrate a strong background in relationship building, technical concepts as well as a mature sales acumen.
3. Provide consultation on complex projects and applications as an operation top-level contributor in project management.
4. Become a product expert/sales driver for the sales operation on the entire product range and be effective in presenting, training, installing and representing the offering. Capitalize, promote and maximize sales growth by providing to our customer a deep technical and consultative sales approach.
Principal Activities / Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Provides technical pre and post sales support to internal and external customers, by phone or on-site, trains employees, leads on complex installations, finds solutions to unique, complex or recurrent technical problems, projects and applications.
2. Contributes to team success by fulfilling the role of the technical and application expert for large or difficult sales opportunities.
3. Has an assigned territory of the divisional business area to support as their primary area of responsibility.
4. Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers’ needs.
5. Responsible for achieving and maintaining a level of customer satisfaction consistent with quality guidelines and objectives
6. Collaboration and teamwork with sales members to assist with machine demos, installations, technical training, courtesy calls, customer communication and follow up activities
7. Develop and maintain technical and operational competency on all products through self study, training, hands on use and field exposure to customer applications. Required to successfully complete product training courses and demonstrate a minimum competency level as defined by management.
8. Will aid in developing, implementing and participating in training courses to continually increase the level of product knowledge of the North American sales organization on an ongoing basis; as well as continually developing personal knowledge and skills.
9. Must be flexible and capable of adapting to many situational roles including: lead person in an account or project, peer to peer, general support and resource role.
10. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize while acting as a project manager, team leader, consultant, and problem solver.
11. Will liaise with technical team, project managers and vendors.
12. The development, design and testing of small applications in hardware and/or software for sales, divisional Level I support and customers requiring special needs to meet applications.
13. Duties may include, new equipment installations, customer training, emergency and routine repair, contract sales and maintenance and any other service related activities as directed by management.
14. Support all new product launches and introductions along with any required sales support and will be assigned specific new products for development, testing, training and knowledge building.
15. Will help in the development and presentation of specific training seminars at customer sites or to divisional staffs on request as new products and services become available.
