Responsibilities:
  • The Shift Manager manages all aspects of production for a one-shift operation that produces premium, fresh cooked products.
  • Manage, direct and supervise the production, processing and packaging departments.
  • Direct the work activities of five salaried (Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Shipping, Receiving, Sanitation) and 100+ hourly associates
  • Drive attainment of business objectives and guide team members to deliver bottom-line business results in the areas of safety, people, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Drive the continuous improvement process and identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop the capabilities and competencies of associates through ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, as well as Company policies and standards related to Safety, Quality and workplace conduct.
  • Monitor product quality and makes the necessary product process adjustments.
  • Develop and maintains the budget and labor schedules for the operation.
  • Implement corrective action as necessary to ensure that annual objectives can be achieved.
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years of management/supervisory experience in a food or consumer products goods manufacturing environment.
  • Cross-functional operations experience with a proven track record of delivering successful business results in the areas of schedule attainment, safety, quality, and cost.
  • Previous experience managing/supervising large groups of associates (i.e., >50) manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, FDA, USDA or AIB standards, HACCP guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), etc.
  • Ongoing passion to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to deliver bottom-line results. Must be a change agent.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving skills and able to formulate action plans based on real data.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Must possess strong training/facilitation skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
