The Packaging Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of packaging
 
and assembly strategies for the Protection Products business unit.  This is a hands-on
 
role, managing both a small team of packaging and assembly engineers and also interacting
 
with other functional teams of design, applications and test engineers. 
 
Although the role will have major emphasis on supporting new processes it will also focus on
 
optimizing current processes and root cause analysis of customer issues, timely customer
 
action, clear and concise reporting and problem solving using six sigma problem solving
 
tools.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
? Manages a small team of Engineers in the Packaging Group
 
? Demonstrates ability to successfully develop hard/soft skills of direct reports
 
? Detailed knowledge of all standard packaging technologies with an emphasis in QFN, chip on
 
lead QFN, Cu wire bonding, SOIC, SOT, CSP, stacked die, WLCSP.
 
? Well informed of new technologies and driven to seek out new ideas and capabilities
 
? Responsible for qualification of new packages through internal reliability group as well as
 
interacting with external FA labs
 
? Optimize new and current packaging processes to optimize process variability, reliability and
 
cost
 
? Set up process and quality documentation and generate DOEs to resolve process issues
 
? Familiarity with package modeling techniques
 
? Working knowledge of PFMEA, DFMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP, 8D
 
? Being a team player to resolve assembly problems with multiple teams inside and external
 
customers
 
? Travel to local and/or foreign subcontract facilities to support package development activities
 
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
 
? Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical
 
Engineering required, advanced technical degrees are helpful.
 
? 10+ Years’ experience working in a semiconductor assembly manufacturing environment
 
? 5+ years of managerial experience in a related field preferred.
 
? Recognized expert in Semiconductor Packaging or Processing
 
? Can communicate at all levels and across multiple disciplines using verbal and written
 
communication
 
? Hands-on working knowledge of AutoCAD is required
