??The Mechanical Engineer will support the engineering department by performing the following duties:?
Job Duties:                                                         
  • Evaluate mechanical systems and products evaluating and comparing designs and quotations; applying principles of mechanics and materials.
  • Oversee the manufacturing of drives and belts and equipment to assure process will meet product requirements including: efficiency, cycle times, cell layout, equipment specifications, safety and design, as well as maintenance requirements. Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, and designs.
 
  • Provide direction and advice in terms of manufacturability, dimensioning, and creating tolerances for products.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment.
  • Assure system and product quality
  • Assist product development team in the preparation of product cost analysis of prototype and new series production products, which can then be utilized for customer quotation responses.
  • Responsible for cradle-to-grave development and support to the production floor.
  • Review new product design to identify design for manufacturability and equipment estimation.
  • Responsible for creating 2D or 3D models and drawings for the design of fixtures and tooling associated with production needs.
  • Machine design experience and knowledge of best practices in product and tool design.
  • Capable of managing a database of parts and drawings, as well as systematically applying revisions.
 
 
 
 
Job Requirements
   
 
  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5  years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on experience with computer numerical control (CNC), computer-aided engineering (CAM), and/or computer-aided manufacturing (CAE).
  •  Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (AUTOCAD, ProE or other
  •  Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Metlab, Excel, LabView).
